The data from laterite nickel exploration largely consists of spatial data that stores information such as coordinates and locations, like drillhole locations, surface sample collection points, road or access routes, spring locations, and so on. To store and manage this data, I built a spatial database system using POSTGIS.
PostGIS is an extension in POSTGRES to store and manage spatial databases. PostGIS allows users to work with spatial data using SQL, just as they would work with data in a traditional RDBMS.
To perform editing, querying, analysis, or visualization on spatial data stored in the database, it can be integrated with third-party GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, Python (Geopandas), or through web-based applications. Users can work with data from the same source, and after editing, the data will be saved on the same database server. This allows users to easily access the most up-to-date data stored in the system.
